We've recently decided to deploy 50 OEM machines, via KMS VL Keys, and with the help of Spiceworks users, I was able to successfully setup a Volume License agreement, and such. Now the time has come to designate a machine as a KMS host, and I've chosen our Domain Controller.. The only problem is that I'm afraid it will overwrite the OEM key..
The server is a Dell OEM server, that already had Server 2008 R2 installed, and I do have the recovery discs just in case. My problem is that I am afraid that when I put my new VL key in, via: cscript slmgr.vbs /ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX, it will overwrite the OEM key that came preinstalled. Does anyone know if this will cause an issue??
