I've been trying to work out how to allow user to install updates for various applications they have.
I have looked into GPO deployed software but it just looks so complicated. And also, we have a weird variety of things and even trying to get MSI for some things is difficult/impossible. Nevermind the fact that it looks like you have to update this everytime Adobe or whoever release an update - I would be making changes to often!
What I would really like is that whenever a user is prompted with 'do you want to update' for an existing bit of software, that they can click 'yes' and have it install without intervention from me. I DON'T want to give them power user access or similar because I don't want them to install new software.
Surely there is someway to allow them to run updates without giving them free for all access to install anything? How do other people do this in a small-medium environment?
