WMI Model Name query for HP systems

Not sure if this the right place for this, but it's worth a shot. We will be shortly replacing all of our Dell PC's with new HP's. I currently have MDT 2013 setup to inject only the necessary drivers given the model of the system that is currently being deployed (as described in this TechNet post). Dell's model naming is pretty straightforward and predictable. From what I've found so far, HP may not be and I was hoping to get some sample data from other Spiceheads so I'm not trying to do this as I'm unboxing the new systems.

The only resource I could find on the info I'm after is http://www.faqshop.com/wp/misc/wmi/list-of-wmic-csproduct-get-name-results, but of course none of the models I need are listed here.

If anyone currently using any of the following models could report back here with how the model name is reported via "wmic computersystem get model" that would be very helpful.

  • HP ProDesk 600 G1 Small Form Factor Desktop
  • HP ProBook 450 G1
  • HP Z230 Windows Tower
  • HP ZBook 17 Mobile Workstation

We do have a handful of very old HP's sitting around currently and my concern is that the new ones will have the same clunky naming they do, such as "HP Compaq dc5100 MT(PZ580UA)" and not the relatively simple "OptiPlex 960" our current Dell's report.

Thanks!
