So, I'm doing imaging the old-fashioned way- with Ghost- and it usually works. But we have the budget to get a good imaging software, so I need some feedback.
I'd like to know about your experiences with SmartDeploy vs Acronis SnapDeploy vs MS MDT.
We have quite a few desktop models. This small company has grown fast, so we haven't done (recently, at least) any major hardware refreshes. We actually have 18 different workstation models in production, including laptops. So doing model-specific images has been... a challenge.
I like the idea of SmartDeploy where they give you platform pack- a module that contains the drivers you need, by model. Essentially, you just build a VM, then SmartDeploy deploys the drivers with the VM to a physical machine.
One thing that gives me pause is relying on them for the platform...
