Some background: we have a computer lab with about 80 computers. Students login to the computers through AD. Currently, DeepFreeze is used to prevent permanent changes, so after reboot, the user's profile is wiped out. First-logon times are extremely slow in Windows 8.1.
I've read that mandatory profiles could be a solution. Before I go any further, though, I'd like to know if these requirements are possible with mandatory profiles:
- All the documentation I've read about mandatory profiles says to put the mandatory profile on a network share. Is this a requirement? I would prefer to have the mandatory profile stored on the machine itself.
- Is it possible to set it where any domain user that logs into these machines gets the mandatory profile?
- Would the mandatory profile use the user's first name and last name? For example, on the Windows 8.1...
